Aquinah Sky's Clearing

Even though I only visit home, Martha's Vineyard Island, a few times a year, I always bring back to Washington DC new images from which to paint. This painting now belongs to the Newman collection. Lucy's Dark Clouds

Paintbrushes

I don't think there's anything he won't try to put in his mouth. The other day in the garden he looked at me with a weed hanging out of his mouth and an expression of "um I don't think I like this." He's a very courageous little fellow.

Green Ball

We went to the toy store today and bought some new toys. There were many different balls to choose from but we chose the glow in the dark ball.

Plumb Fields

This is a little piece but it seems big. I like the deep blue sky.

Winter Sun

This is a painting of the winter sun on Martha's Vineyard. The light is sharp and almost blinding at certain times of the day. I'd like to paint lightscapes during the day but I can only think of one light source which is obviously the sun. Lightscapes at night are more interesting but it bothers me how dark they end up being to frame the lights. We'll see.
